Following Joe’s recent success at the European Youth Championships, he barely had time to unpack and re-pack before he was off again to compete in the Modern Pentathlon Youth World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

Even up against the very best young athletes in the World, Joe stormed home to victory in the swim. Competing in an outside lane did not prevent him being the only swimmer to break the two minute mark as he finished in a remarkable 1:59.99!

After the fencing and combined events Joe narrowly missed out on a podium place by finishing 5th overall. Joe has had a remarkable summer and everyone at the club is extremely proud of him!
