Wasps Swim to Success

Its time to celebrate the successes of a number of our swimmers who have been rewarded for their continued commitment to the Sport.

Pictured are Joe Evans, Rachael Hares, Lydia Jamieson, Charlotte Evans and Charlotte Archdeacon who all qualified for this year’s Midland Long Course Championships which is being held this weekend at Coventry. Lydia will be competing in her first Midland Championship in the 100m Butterfly and we wish her every success. Rachael Hares, who competed in last weeks London Marathon and finished in an amazing time of 3:30.11 also competes this weekend in the 50m Breast stroke.

Rachael and fellow Whitchurch Wasp, Robert Flack were also selected to compete for Great Britain in the Modern Pentathlon World Cup Series in Medway in April. Rachael finished 51st in the final and Robert 63rd – well done to them both.

Joe Evans last weekend competed in the Modern Pentathlon Youth Trials in Bath and won the Youth A boys category. He won the swim in a time of 2:03.37 – an excellent result.
