Wasps Qualify for Schools Inter County Gala

Whitchurch Wasps swimmers did their schools and the club proud at the Shropshire Secondary Schools Gala last Wednesday with 6 swimmers qualifying to represent the County at the inter – county schools gala in Hereford.

Charlotte Evans, Josh Edge, Thomas Bishop, James Cook, Jamie Taylor and Joe Evans all made it to the top 2 in their chosen events to go through to the next stage.

Joe Evans finished inside the old record in the 100m Freestyle in a time of 56.87 but was pipped to the post at the end and came in second. Jamie Taylor reached a significant milestone by swimming the 100m free in under a minute for the first time.

In all 10 Wasps swimmers competed at the event held at Market Drayton. The results were as follows:
