Wasps Girls are North West Schools Champions.

4 Whitchurch Wasps Swimmers took the North West Schools’ Team Championships by storm as they swam to victory in the Inter Girls Medley Relay. Jessica Headdon, Charlotte Archdeacon, Helen Duley and Rachel Trent were representing Bishop Heber High School at the gala at the Europa Pools in Birkenhead on Sunday.

Jess made a tremendous start on the backstroke leg swimming a personal best time to handover to Charlotte who also swam a pb in the 50m breastroke to put the team in pole position. Helen then knocked an amazing 3 seconds off her best ever 50m fly time to hand over to Rachel who brought the team to victory in a nail biting finish by swimming the freestyle leg in under 32 seconds.

Wasps Coach, Steve Archdeacon was delighted with the result: “This is a great accolade for Bishop Heber and for the Club and we are very proud of all the swimmers who took part”.

The 12 fastest teams in the country will battle it out in the National Schools Team Championships in February.

Other Wasps were also in action representing Bishop Heber. They were:

Charlie Lane, Michael Darlington, Matthew Duley and Sam Kitching in the Junior Boys team; Abi Fawcett, Lydia Jamieson, Lucy Davis, Amy Farr and Bryony Archdeacon in the Junior Girls Team; Ellie Farr, Yanina Morris and Emma Ewins in the Inter Girls. In total they achieved 12 personal bests.

Well done to everyone who took part.
