Elliot Hughes Wins Gold at Millfield Level 1 Open gala

Young Wasps swimmer, Elliot Hughes, attended the Plymouth Leander Level 1 Long Course Open Meet at Millfields School, near Glastonbury over the weekend 15/16th December.

As the only representative of the Club, and facing his first swim (competitive or otherwise!) in a 50m pool, it was a daunting experience; but Elliot rose to the challenge well, achieving a bronze medal in the 200m Fly, a silver medal in the 50M Fly and to end his weekend on a high, won Gold in the 50M Free with a new PB of 32.96.

Elliot was ‘adopted’ and supported throughout the event by the Loughborough University Team, which included Euan Dale, James Goddard and Ross Davenport, whose encouragement and cheering really helped to make this a memorable weekend.
