John Woodrow Junior Challenge

Sunday 30th September saw a very young Whitchurch Junior team – take on the might of four Manchester inner City Clubs, in this prestigious annual junior relay challenge

With some of our 9/10 year old swimmers having to swim up age groups in the 11/12 & 13/14 – and in some cases swimming as many as 16 relays – it was a fantastic achievement to come away with the third place trophy.

Out of a total of 32 relay events – we never faired worse than third. Our 9/10 boys team consisting of Elliot Hughes, Alfie Pardoe, Ed Reid, Michael Darlington and Charlie Lane came first in three of their relays. Our Girls 9/10 team made up of Emma Thelwall-Jones, Beth Jamieson, Lauren Bond, Amelia

Penn and Ottilie Fairhurst took second place in two of their races.
