Wasp 1 & 2 Changes

The Club announces that it has made some changes to Wasp 1 & 2 criteria, in order to bring them more into line with the Shropshire County and Midland District qualification benchmarks.

With immediate effect the requirement of Wasp 1 to swim 1000m in under 23 minutes will be replaced with an 800m swim in under 19 minutes. All of the other requirements of Wasp 1 remain unaltered.

In order to achieve Wasp 2, all swimmers will now need to swim an 800m Freestyle in under 12:50.00, and a 200m Individual Medley in under 3:15.00. In addition they will need to achieve one of the following 200m form stroke times: 200m Freestyle 2:52.00; 200m Breaststroke 3:37.00; 200m Butterfly 3:17.00; or 200m Backstroke 3:10.00. All other requirements of Wasp 2 have been removed.

All Wasp 1 & 2 holders will need to demonstrate maintenance of these times over the previous 12 months. In other words Wasp 1 & 2 accreditations are annual requirements. All existing Wasp 1 & 2 holders will have until the end of 2007 to achieve these times.
