Wasps Waterpolo Season Kicks Off

All the results from the previous time trials are now on the website.

The new Wasps Mini Waterpolo season kicked off at Wem Pool last Tuesday with a decisive 9-6 win for the Warriors against the Barbie Girls.

Playing 5 a-side and 25 minutes each way the match was fiercely competitive and could have gone either way until the last 10 minutes when the “Barbies” appeared to run out of steam.

For the Warriors Connah Suttle-Jones scored 4 goals whilst Jay Jae Barlow knocked in a hat-trick. In goal Alfie Pardoe pulled off some stunning saves – reminding everyone why the warriors were prepared to pay such a heavy price to get him to sign in the close season (a pack of crisps!). Ed Reid and Jessica Powell also contributed heavily to the Warriors victory.

The “Barbies” were captained by Eleanor Reid and saw some good swimming off the ball from Nicki Lathum, Jessica Battey, Lydia Jamieson and Beth Jamieson. Nicki and Lydia & Beth’s mums provided enthusiastic support from poolside and there was no fighting between supporters.

The next fixture will be on Tuesday 14th November 7pm at Wem Pool.
