Ben Williams Wins Spring Club Quiz

Ben Williams won the Club Website’s first quiz and has been awarded with a £10 voucher to spend at the Club Shop.

The question he answered related to the cost of the Adidas swimsuit worn by world-record holder Ian Thorpe. This swim suit evolved out of Alpine Ski-ing.  The concept of the suit evolved around muscle compression…a suit so tight it stiffens the body so that it penetrates water like a dart and limits muscle oscillation, so that the on-set of fatigue is delayed.

Each Adidas suit is used for just one competition race – following which it needs to be cut off his body.  Because so few of these suits are actually made to this specification the cost of Adidas providing each suit is, according to Ian Thorpe how many Australian dollars?  (NB: An Australian Dollar is approximately 42 pence).

The correct answer was $40,000 (Australian Dollars) – ie £16,800. Ben Williams was the closest with his answer of $625 Australian Dollars. Well done Ben.
