Not to be outdone Charlotte Evans then swum for her life in another club record time of 5:02.50 - shaving a mammoth 14 seconds off the previous Girls 13/u record which had been set in 2001 by Charlotte Grandfield.
And then the youngest member of the Wasps team Alfie Pardoe almost leapt through the water, as if there was a pack of sharks hunting him down, in a new boys 9/u record time of 7:33.51 – a colossal 21 seconds faster than the previous club record time which had been set by Connah Suttle-Jones back in 2004.
In addition to these three new club record holders – gold medals went to Laura Austin, Clarrie Hocknell, Laura Bull, Bryony Archdeacon, Abi Fawcett, Olivia Taylor, Philip Austin, Jack Machin, Jamie Taylor, James Portch and Joshua Edge.
