Wasps Fly the Flag in Shropshire County Team

Congratulations to three of Whitchurch Wasps’ swimmers who were selected to represent Shropshire at the Staffordshire invitation inter-county gala at Wolverhampton last Sunday. Phillip Austin, Jamie Taylor and Charlotte Archdeacon all swam brilliantly achieving a total of 5 personal best times.

Phillip, in the 14 and under age group swam the 100m Individual Medley, one of the most gruelling races of all, in a personal best time of 1:14.98. Jamie, in the 12 and under age group steamed through the 100m freestyle in 1:10.56, beating his previous best time. Charlotte, who was in the 13 and under age group, swam a great 100m breaststroke in 1:24.72, knocking 4.25 seconds of her previous pb.

All three swimmers also competed in the relays with Phillip and Jamie achieving two more personal bests for 50m freestyle.
