Wasps Age Related League Tables
It is intended that these tables will be updated every month – thereby creating some internal club competition and focusing swimmers on achieving PBs in “meaningful” events (i.e. those that are eligible for District and National Competition.)
Each swimmer in the Club has been awarded points, based on their PBs in certain strokes and distances, in relation to an ASA age related benchmark - the qualifying times for the Midland District Championships.
The events that qualify for points are as follows:
- 200m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
- 200m & 400m IMs
- 400m & 800m Freestyle
- 50m & 1500m Freestyle
- 100m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly
Girls 11/u & Boys 12/u can only secure points for PBs achieved in the 8 events highlighted in blue. All other swimmers can secure points for PBS achieved in all 14 events.
In order to qualify for any points a swimmer’s PB must be no more than an additional 25% slower than this benchmark.
The total points then allocated to each swimmer are based on their best 6 events (as defined by the 6 in which they have secured the most points).
So let battle begin!! Train hard, enter the annual Club Championships, County championships & Open Galas to secure PBs – and improve your points.
