Condover Funday

posted 2 Nov 2015, 13:29 by Andy Fox

A few weeks ago 54 swimmers and 5 adult volunteers visited Condover on the outskirts of Shrewsbury.

We had all ages of swimmers participating in Abseiling, The Gladiator Challenge, Grid stones, Laser maze and problem solving activities.

All of the children represented the club extremely well and did themselves and the club proud. We watched as the children encouraged and supported each other on all of the challenges. A few of the members found some challenges difficult but not once did I hear a note of mocking. The team building activities were embraced with great enthusiasm although, in most cases, after half an hour of discussion, it was apparent swimming is a solo sport!!

At the end of the day all the children had half an hour free time. They gathered on the field outside and PLAYED. For us as parents it was the best part of the day. Not once did we have to intervene. The whole club seemed to embrace and enjoy each others company and I hope that it has been a good opportunity for them to have formed new friendships and solidify established ones.

For me the day was a sheer pleasure and I hope the children enjoyed themselves. - Amber

Many thanks to Amber for organising this successful and fun day
