Whitchurch Wasps armature swimming club had 31 swimmers that have made the qualifying times for the county championships. The 31 swimmers qualified to compete in 373 events, over two weekends at the end of February. The county championships held at Wolverhampton Pool gave the wasps a chance to test themselves against the best swimmers in the county. Head coach Robin Jameson had putting the swimmers through their paces in preparation. she said "that they have all worked hard to qualify and championships was their opportunity to impress" Over the two weekends all the Wasps swimmers beat their personal best times and many got through the heat to the finals. Swimmers from the Wasps have gone on to represent the county and nationally in both swimming and the modern pentathlon.. |
