Wrexham Junior Sprint Meet

posted 22 Nov 2016, 23:33 by Whitchurch Wasps

Last Sunday 20 swimmers set off to Wrexham for the club’s annual Junior Sprint Meet – for many swimmers this was their first gala. There were nerves aplenty and many cries of “I can’t find my  goggles” and “Can you help put my hat on” along with numerous “When is my next event?” – it was a VERY LONG day!!!

HOWEVER at the end of the day we achieved

9 Gold medals

6 Silver medals and

2 Bronze medals

as well as some other medals for 4th, 5th and 6th places.

A BIG well done to everybody – ALL swimmers also achieved personal best times.

Many thanks go to Tracey Fox, Leon Hall and Georgia Butler for helping me organise you all on the day and to the parents for all their support.

Onwards and upwards!

Goal Setting added to the Members Area

posted 17 Sep 2016, 08:38 by Andy Fox   [ updated 17 Sep 2016, 08:56 ]

People tend to equate goal setting with motivation, and tougher goals with higher levels of motivation, but that’s a simplistic view that can lead to ineffective goal setting, anxiety and problems with confidence.  On the other hand, effective goal setting can help swimmers:

  • Focus on the right things at the right time;
  • Become more confident; and
  • Identify the steps that you need to take on your performance ‘journey’.
We have new target/ goal setting section in the members area - please login to view more
